Latitude Financial Cyber Attack

Important info for those affected by the Latitude Financial Cyber Attack.

Latitude Financial Services (Latitude) has experienced a cyber-attack. Some of its customer-facing services were initially suspended while they responded to it, but they are operational now.

Questions about your loan or credit?

If you have a question about your loan or credit, Latitude’s Call Centre is operational and you will find the contact details here.

Alternatively, Latitude has a range of online forms you can use for specific enquiries about your loan or credit.

If you are unable to contact Latitude after a reasonable time or are unhappy with the response you get, you can make a complaint.

Has your personal information has been stolen?

Latitude is contacting all customers who have had their personal information stolen to tell them what information was stolen and how it will assist you. It has partnered with IDCARE, a national identity and cyber support service, to help support those impacted. You can find out more here or call 0800 121 068 and use referral code LAT23.

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC) has started an investigation into the privacy breach at Latitude. It is looking at whether Latitude took reasonable steps to protect the personal information stolen. If you’ve been told your personal information was stolen, the OPC suggests you first contact Latitude and IDCARE for support.

The OPC encourages you to make a complaint to it if you complain to Latitude and haven’t heard back within 30 working days using this form.

The OPC says, for impacted Latitude customers and those who have not yet been told whether their data is impacted, the message is to be hyper vigilant. In particular, keep a close eye on your accounts for any unusual activity. Work with your banks and telco providers and consider checking your credit record.
